2012 Lael Reunion
The 58th Lael Family Reunion can now be added to our family's history. A last minute change to the Reunion date may have caught a few families off guard. Fortunately Dale Lael found out a month or so before the scheduled Reunion date that another function had booked the Civic Center. The Reunion was moved back to the last Sunday in April. The turn out was very good and we are happy that you were able to attend.
The family tree chart that I have placed on the wall the past few years is still growing in length and number of family members listed. The chart starts with John Henry and Dona Lael and has now grown to be about 35 feet long. Thanks to those that have noted any typos or incorrect dates and have marked the correction on the wall chart. I go over the chart after the Reunion and make any changes to the Lael Family database and family tree program. We are getting our family history as accurate as possible.
We took family group pictures as we have been doing in the past. Those pictures then go on this web site and also in the booklet that we publish each year. I enjoy looking back over the years and seeing the changes in the Lael families. I hope you also enjoy being able to look at our families grow and become a close part of our history.
Again this year I would like to able to add past and current histories and stories to this web site and the booklet. I am probably at fault for not pushing you all for these family stories and information. As our older family members add years we regret that one day the ability to hear and retell those happenings will be lost for every. I missed all of that history when my Grandmother Sullins passed away at the age of 102. She could recall things over her lifetime that had occurred in great detail up until the last few weeks of her life. had not recorded any of that information and it is now lost forever.
